Three Leadership Acts Of Faith
Does faith have a place in leadership? Absolutely!
Faith is believing in something you can’t yet see. Faith is moving forward even though you don’t know how it will turn out. These three acts of faith work together to support great leadership.
Ask for what you want
Asking genuinely for what you want from others requires faith. Faith that others will care about your needs. Faith that you are worthy of pursuing your wants and needs. Faith that whether you get it or not, you are OK…and so are they.
Let go and move on
Making a decision and letting go is an act of faith. Faith that while you can no longer chose the alternatives, you will be able to deal with the consequences of your choice. Faith that others are capable as well. Faith that you don’t have to have it all figured out.
Stop and listen
Stopping long enough to listen to your inner voice and to the voices of those around you is an act of faith. Faith that if you find out you were wrong, you are still OK. Faith that what you hear from others might be the thing you most need to know. Faith that the small, quiet voices have powerful messages for you.
Which act of faith is most difficult for you? Which one would you like to develop to improve your leadership?

I like these three simple, yet difficult acts. The first two are the most difficult for me. Listening and learning I do well and am fulfulled by it and get wisdom every time. Asking for what I need is a work in progress. Making a decision can also pose challenges for me as I tend to spend a lot of time in gathering information and opinions. Having faith in myself and my own wisdom and letting go of consequences is certainly something to be practiced! Thank you.
